Solar and I began competing in canine disc during the 2009 season. Having just adopted Solar less than a year before our first competition, I was not expecting much – just a plan to go out and have fun with my dog. However, in a humbling whirlwind of success, we finished our first season in the top 10 of nearly every competition entered. While hoping for continued success in the future, what will not be forgotten is the original intention of our participation in the sport – FUN! The interaction of the game between Solar and myself has made our relationship grow exponentially, not only on the disc dogging field, but in everyday life as well. Thanks to the sport, I have met some truly awesome dogs and people along the way, and look forward to meeting many more in the future.
