It was only a few short years ago that I became involved in disc play with my crazy high drive dogs, simply as a means to tire them out and get them some exercise. Afterall, a tired dog is a good dog! But now, 9 dogs, thousands of discs, and 2 World titles later, I am having as much fun throwing the plastic to my pups as that very first day in the park. I began competing in Freestyle in late 2002, and have enjoyed much success with my australian cattle dogs, Five and Raccoon Jack including several state championship titles. Jack and I are the 2007 IDDHA World Champs and the 2007 USDDN International Champs, and finished 3rd in the '07 Skyhoundz Worlds. But truly, for me and my husband Adrian, competing with our pups is not about the titles and the trophies. The true glory is in knowing that nearly all of our dogs came straight from local pounds and shelters. I am active in australian cattle dog rescue, and also in promoting disc dog sports through our club, the Southern Ohio Flying K9s. Adrian and I live in Gray Summit, MO and enjoy playing disc with our 11 dogs; I also actively compete in agility and dabble in dock diving, canine freestyle dance, and have even tried weight pulling!
